2010 Green Piece Block of the Month

Here are the two for September. The first one went together easily, but the second one I fought. I really should redo it, but like my friend says, it'll be covered in quilting.. I sure hope so!

Final 2010 BOTM Meeting...

Kat hanging up the class quilt top.

This year's block of the month (BOTM) consisted of blocks, shapes for us to modify. We had tons of different choices. I changed a few colors on mine through out the blocks, but have not put it totally together yet, as I want to move the blocks around.

Here is a photo of the class quilt top.

Kat with her quilt, that she modified for her.

Cecil, one of the members of our BOTM, created mini flying geese, instead of putting on the applique. This gave it a dramatic effect, we all oooh'ed and awed over.. :)

March's Block of the Month

Wow.. the center block is done! I have always wanted to do a Mariner's block, and that is what first drew me in to wanting to do this quilt top.. One more month to go, and we get the last blocks to complete it.

Sneak Previews of the Block of the Month for 2010

Here is the sneak peak of the upcoming Block of the month. It is made by Moda, and it's named Green Piece.. It starts in May 2010 at Pacific Fabrics.
There will be 2 blocks per month. Inside of each snowball, a person has a choice:
Wool Applique
Cotton Applique (If I remember right)
Redwork or Machine Digital Designer
even Photo Transfer.

January's Block of the Month

Here is one of the January's Block of the Month. There will be 5 of these total to make a row in various colors..

March 21, 2010 update..
YES! All five are finished.. I don't think I have never said I have hated doing any block.. This is one that I really do not like to do!! Here are all five laid side-by-side, not sewn together.

February Block of the Month...

I was finally able to get February Block of the Month done.. After having a cold, that turned into Bronchitis, then having the flu for a week, and my brochitis turning into pnuemonia after the flu.. This has been a total month from hell!!

I never got January's Block of the month done, but that is next... Hopefully I will have it done today.. :)

Block of the Month... December

I did December's block of the month the next day.. I wanted to get it done and out of the way so I didn't have to worry about it over the holdiays.. Here is one half of the block (right of the two pictures. My daughter is 5'2")

They are suppose to be put together as in the far left picture, but I want to balance out the quilt. I'll put one on one side and one on the other.. The same will happen to the other side of the quilt's scheduled block.

Block of the Month.. November..

Block 7 ~ November, done the day before the next showing it and getting December's block items.. I am really begining to believe this is "row" of the month.. LOL

Block of the Month ~ May 2009 to April 2010

Here is the block of the month I am currently working on. I fell in love with the colors, and it being batik interested me more..

This quilt is designed for us to either follow along in class, or to encourage us to make changes to it. I have opt'ed to make a few color changes, and to rearrange just a few of the blocks to make the center mariner star more prominant. The picture that is posted of the full quilt, is how Pacific Fabric's designer has done hers. I will put mine side by side when it is done to show the difference. I will also take a few other pictures to show what others have done with theirs at the end..

My first Block of the month I ever did was almost all applique. I almost didn't sign up for it as I hated applique, but my friend, Lisa, wanted to join and wanted a friend to go along with, soooooooooooooo needless to say, I have really learned to like it..
